Champion Pointblank's Winning Caliber, FD

Cali has retired to Cape Breton where she is spending her days with Grand daughter Charlie and the rest of the time, getting one on one attention from Keith.

Cali was born on July 9, 2003 and although petite, she rules the house. I have "pet names" for all the dogs. She is our dolly girl. Where Lil is fairly calm, Cali is always bouncy and busy. Owner handled, she started her show career at 6 months and earned her first 3 points under Judge Donald Duncan at 7 months. With limited showing, she finished her Championship with points to spare at the Vizsla Booster in Belleville in October, 2004, taking a 4 point major with Winners Bitch.

In the spring of 2004 at less than 1 year, she earned impressive scores to finish her FDJr title. As can happen with young vizslas, her first "heat" was very traumatic for her and affected her confidence for a while both in the show ring and in the field. We let her mature a bit, foregoing the NAVHDA natural ability tests and put her with Liz for training this spring. She came along very nicely, earning very nice qualifying scores to complete her Field Dog title. We are looking forward to hunting with Cali as well as doing some obedience training.

We have recently had her health checks done and hope to breed her to Liz Outram's Cain in August. Although this would be Cali's first litter, Cain is a proven stud and has produced nice all round pups when bred to Cali's mom, Charka's Sugar and Spice.

(Photos are of Cali in our pond, training with breeder/trainer, Liz Outram (she thinks the retrieve should be to mouth, not hand) and looking pretty at Ferris Provincial Park)
